Abstract of the talk:  The speaker will discuss on operating principles of Spectroscopic techniques such as UV-VIS and infrared. He will mainly focus on components, basics and  instrumentation of UV-VIS spectroscopy as well as Infrared spectroscopy / vibrational modes of molecules, measuring techniques, instrumentation, FTIR spectrophotometer, Instrumentation, overtones and combination frequencies.
