Postgraduate Scholarship tenable in the Western Norway University
of Applied Sciences and the University of Bergen, Norway

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for Postgraduate scholarships to work mainly at the Western University of Applied Sciences and University of Bergen under the general theme of ‘Nanomaterials for Clean Energy Applications’ for two years.

Selected candidates should register and work full-time for a Master degree with a research component at the Western University of Applied Sciences, doing Modelling / Simulation / Experimental studies on Nanomaterial for Clean Energy, preparing progress reports and research publications and assisting the research supervisors in all activities related to the project. The selected candidates have a chance to pursue a PhD degree after successful completion of the two-year Master degree.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
(a) BSc Honours degree in Physics / Chemistry / Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
(b) BSc General Degree with Physics / Chemistry as a subject and Master degree in Physics / Chemistry /
Materials Science / Technology.

  1.  IELTS overall band score of at least 6.5. The IELTS test result is not more than two years old. The test must be of the type Academic. We do not accept the IELTS Home test.
  2.  TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with at least 90 points for an Internet-based test (IBT).

The completed applications along with a certified copy of the degree certificate and IELTS score sheet should reach the address given below before January 12, 2024. Please write ‘Application for Postgraduate Studentships under HRNCET 2.0 Project’ at the top left-hand corner of the envelope. Successful candidates will be eligible to go through another selection process by the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and the University of Bergen, Norway.

A soft copy of the application and scanned copy of the degree certificate and IELTS score sheet should also be emailed to hrncet@univ.jfn.ac.lk with the subject “Application for Postgraduate Scholarship under HRNCET 2.0 Project” before January 08, 2024.
Those who sent the application are not required to send it again.
