A record breaking big delegation of 30 academics and representatives from the private sector from Norway visited this week Colombo and Jaffna under the collaborative projects between my Western Norway University of Applied Science (HVL) and University of Jaffna (UoJ). Several tasks were accomplished. A seminar on Clean Energy was arranged in Colombo on the 9th of May. Over 120 dignitaries in the field participated and high Level discussions were carried out to initiate joint activities in Clean Energy Technologies.

Opening of CERL
A new Clean Energy Research Laboratory was officially opened by the Hon. Ambassador Thorbjørn Gaustadsæter and Rector Berit Rokne on the 11th of May 2018 under a collaborative project between Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and University of Jaffna. University of Peradheniya, Sri Lanka, University of Bergen, University of Agder, Norway and Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), India are Our network partners.Thanks to Ministry of Higher Education the Royal Norwegian Embassy for their financial assistance towards building research laboratory and installing sophisticated equipment worth of 30 million rupees, respectively.
