An advanced training workshop on “Fabricating nanostructured solar cells and Building
solar phone chargers” was held on 25/04/2018 at the Department of Physics, University of Jaffna. 49
students out of 65 students, who scored above 80% in the written quiz examination on CETs, participated.
The participants were divided into ten groups and trained to make nanostructured dye sensitized solar
cells and to build solar phone chargers. They were trained by postgraduate research students, Mr.
S.Uthayaraj and Mr.T.Rajaramanan and final year physics special degree undergraduate, Ms. Darshi
Ubeysekara, of University of Jaffna who had prior training under the guidance of Prof. G.R.A. Kumara at
the National Institute of Fundamental Studies, Kandy on April 5 and 6, 2018. At the end of the programme,
